Sponsor a Skater ...
Invest in History

When Kitty and Peter Carruthers won the Olympic silver medal in 1984, they exceeded everyone’s expectations, even their own. The same can be said for the once-in-a-lifetime performances of Tara Lipinski and Sarah Hughes.

Peter, Kitty, Sarah, and Tara all started off in similar ways—with little more than a dream and a pair of skates.

At the Indiana/World Skating Academy Figure Skating Club, there are plenty of young skaters on the cusp of breaking through to the national ranks of figure skating. Sadly, many skaters abandon their careers just as they are really starting to take off. But why?

One universal rule in skating is, “The better you are, the more expensive it is.”

That’s why our skaters depend on corporate and personal sponsorships from their home communities. The financial demands of skating place a heavy burden on the skater’s family—with the costs of coaching fees, ice time, competition registration fees, skates, costumes, etc.

These days, a pair of skates costs between $500-$1,500. Costumes can also cost several hundred dollars!

The payoff of sponsoring an aspiring champion skater is enormous. Contact us today to learn how to sponsor our skaters, or to discuss partnership opportunities for our community events.
