Mr. Pieter Kollen
1939 - 2007
The Indiana/World Skating Academy is mourning the sudden loss of a devoted coach, friend, and mentor. Pieter Kollen died at the age of 68 on August 5. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his children Craig and Christine, plus two grandchildren.
Mr. Kollen had served as the Skating Director of the Indiana/World Skating Academy for 20 years and has helped countless students fulfill their promise as athletes. He was the 1962 U.S. Pairs champion and a two-time world-team member. In 1962, Mr. Kollen was a world team member in both pairs and ice dance.
His warmth of spirit and encouraging words will be missed by all.
